I do like Classic Mode and normal smash locally, along with all the characters and stages. 10 hours in, and I just can't play it anymore. Nothing like Brawl, and even though the map is huge the stages just being normal fights (again the fights being too easy or too difficult) means that it gets too boring (for me at least) to keep playing and finishing the mode. Also the way spirits apply to CPUs is radically different compared to how they apply to you, so things are unbalanced (again going back to my first point).įinally, it's just repetitive and boring. The spirit system is ok, it's just too bad that there isn't much information or context on the spirits and what they are. It's all just pain to go from one area to another, and if you are stuck on a certain stage you have to tirelessely go around it to possibly find another path to progress through World of Light. Secondly the overworld isn't very fun to traverse in, besides the zelda area. Other times, even on hard mode the cpu doesn't even try to fight back and beating them doesn't feel satisfying at all. Multiple characters fighting you aggressively with multiple items, hostile assist trophies continuely spawning while the cpu savagely destroys you, unfair environments favoring the CPU (yes there are spirits to counteract the environments, but until you get those spirits it makes the battles much more difficult). Some battles are done within 10 seconds, others are unbeatable. I'll explain why.įirstly, battles are either too easy or too difficult, very unbalanced. I didn't come in with much expectations when playing World of Light, yet I was severely disappointed.
